100 Years Of History What’s in a name?
Over 100 years, that’s how long Vancouver Hotel has been established. The name originates from the first owners being Canadian sisters who opened Vancouver in the 1920s naming it after their birth city Vancouver. The name has continued without a break for over 100 years now.
In only the second family ownership, Vancouver has continued to welcome guests from all around the world. ‘In Spe Vivimus’ – The original family motto translates to ‘We live in hope’. This can be seen on some original crockery from the 1920s, now framed and hanging proudly in Reception.

Privately owned, our beautiful boutique hotel is close to fashionable Notting Hill, a few minute’s walk from the famous Portobello Road, Westbourne Grove, Queensway, and Kensington Gardens. Getting around London couldn’t be easier, we have the choice of three Underground Stations all within walking distance on our doorstep too.
Vancouver Hotel & Studios has the feel of a traditional London Townhouse, from the warmth and cosiness of our Drawing room to the sound of trickling water in our wonderful hidden garden, where coffee and breakfast can be enjoyed on those sunny days.
